Justin Trudeau invokes the Emergency Act in an attempt to curtail democracy — what does this mean?

I spoke with Jay Cameron, a lawyer with the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), yesterday, just after Prime Minister Trudeau announced he would be invoking the Emergencies Act in an effort to stop the legal protests happening in opposition to Covid-related mandates and restrictions.
