Netflix's Cowboy Bebop review: I could like this if it wasn't Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop is a classic anime from Japan, made almost perfect by the American actors dubbing it for the US market. It helped usher in a new era of cartoons that ok for adults to watch as well as kids. The Cowboy Bebop netflix series, on the other hand, is something no one wanted, asked for or secretly hoped for. For months the Netflix Cowboy Bebop has been reviled as something desecrating a cherished memory of a more perfect time. In reality it's biggest sin is that it's called Cowboy Bebop. If was named anything else and didn't involve OUR four bounty hunting friends, I'd probably like it. Unfortunately nothing Netflix did could match the perfection of the original anime. And Netflix didn't try. It's like someone decides to remake Schindler's list into a action comedy. A show about life in a WWII German camp was great when it was Hogan's Heroes, but as Schindler's List it's just sacrilegious.
