Living In America With The Backstabbers

It's kinda like that old Chinese proverb and curse - "May you live in interesting times." Living in America right now is to live in a cauldron of division, confusion and enough crap coming out of DC to fertilize the world over at least 10 times... Dan Hartman actually wrote and performed "Living in America" before James Brown got a hold of it while Hall and Oates do their version of the O'Jays' "Backstabber" so we went with our personal favorites of each song.

In this case the message of both songs sum up the state of the union, such as it is. And it begs the eternal question, "Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?"

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
