Take Four

This is one of those segues that you can try to figure out literally or figuratively depending on what conspiracy theory you're operating on at any given time... on one hand it could be the Mayor taking a dig at himself for never being able to cut a commercial in the production room on the first, second or even the third take - it always took a fourth take.

Or it could be the like the practice of law or medicine where they have to keep practicing until they get it right... even then some never do... Regardless, the Mayor went for a mixture of Foreigner, Shalimar, Amazing Rhythm Aces and the Atlanta Rhythm Section making it a four song segue. Or it could be for something entirely different but we'll never tell. We all had to sign NDAs about all of this...

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
