In this video, Daniel explains what the Bible says about fearing God. In 2 Timothy 1:7, the Bible says we did not receive a spirit of fear, but in Psalm 33:8 we also read 'Let the whole earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.'
The word Awe is defined as a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder. So, should Christians fear God in the sense of expecting punishment?, or should we stand in awe of Him for the mercy He shows us every day.
