Don't Quit Your Day Job At The Car Wash

Sometimes you have to wait on the gig you want which means you can't just jettison that day job you don't really care about, but it does pay the bills, doesn't it? Or at least it used to. So, today we veer between Sage and one of the myriad long form/edited versions of Rose Royce's "Car Wash" to present that dilemma we all sometimes face. The Mayor is quick to add that "two years is forever" in broadcasting but we're not sure that's really applicable here. But normally he's good for a colorful quote, if given the chance.

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
