Warning, there was a close call during this explore. This is one reason people should not explore alone. Proceed with caution!

*This school gave the team a frightful experience due to an unexpected surprise inside. Turns out the locals have turned this abandoned school into a hangout spot. It is home to a bicycle club that people race their bikes throughout the building. There are ramps and obstacles setup to make races more challenging. Was told that it is where locals come to heal up from stab and gunshot wounds. It is were people come to withdraw off of drugs. Just not the safest place to explore alone.

When researching the history of this school two things came up: scandal and an Air Force General. It is safe to say this school was named after the first African American four-star general. Who started his aviation career as a Tuskegee Airman but did not see any combat missions during WWII. However, he would be in 179 combined combat missions in the Korean War and Vietnam War. He would die from a heart attack shortly after his retirement in 1978.

As for the scandal, it is why the school now sits abandoned. The school was a charter school that operated for ten years. Graduation rate was only 25% and test scores were well below Ohio's average scores. But what really caused the doors to close for good was a report released by the state auditor. According to the report the school inflated the attendance records which allowed them to receive 1.2 million dollars in state funding. Additionally, there was $19,000 of undocumented cash withdrawals by the schools director.

This school was to instill leadership qualities within the students like the man who the school was named after, but due to poor leadership the school may have put some tarnish onto his name and legacy.*
