Cenderawasih parotia ( scientific name : Parotia berlepschi ) is a bird of paradise that was first discovered in the 19th century . This bird is named after Hans von Berlepsch , a German ornithologist .

In an expedition in December 2005 , researchers rediscovered this species in the Foja Mountains , Papua , Indonesia . Given the limited habitat and distribution information, this species may be proposed as a separate species.
