Many popular theologians today do not believe in modern-day Christians' ability to dream prophetically meaningful dreams or to speak prophecy. Really it seems they believe that ALL the gifts of the spirit have ceased. They support this belief with the idea that we have a "Closed Canon". That Jesus was and is the final word and only what is contained in the Modern Bible is the "God speaking".
