Since the Mayor has basically taken over the controls on weekends, we just let him do whatever it is he is doing though we're still not clear on his agenda but he seems serenely confident of being able to pull these segues off... like the one for today where he mixes the Little River Band's version of the Beatles' "In My Life" into Raul Malo and the Mavericks and it actually works and makes sense. We don't think he's like E.T. and phoning home so much as he is sending messages to someone but we don't know who. When we try to ask him about that, he just asks us if we enjoy getting paid and we do so that's the end of that.

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
