Exploring German Strong-point in Epic condition - Bunker Punt WN220H.

The bunker complex Widerstandsnest 220 H, also known as De Punt , consists out of 15 bunkers that you can visit.

These bunkers were build here to defend
the head of the island of Goeree-Overflakkee, and could defend the east side (Stellendam) to the west side (De Punt), Goeree, this was done by building
several heavy bunkers of the R504 type, which would house anti tank guns, which had to be driven out of the bunker onto an open-ringstand.
The complex would have been assaulted by the Canadian army in 1944, but there isn't much known about this attack.

These bunkers are one of the best preserved in Europe, because they were buried in 1948 after a storm and have been restored in the last decade, sadly mostly of the metal was already gone before 1948 and the FT turret and Pak gun were replaced by replicas.

You can view the entire complex all year round via a signposted route with information panels.
