Israeli historian Ilan Pappé describes the crucial role of the Jewish National Fund (JNF) in the ethnic cleansing of Palestine that led to the establishment of Israel in 1948. Palestinians and others call this ethnic cleansing the 'Nakba,' Arabic for 'catastrophe.' Professor Pappé illustrates some of the ways in which the JNF is implicated in the military operations for the expulsion of the Palestinians from their lands and how the JNF thwarted the Palestinian Right of Return.
