A 1904 record scam - Hiawatha March played on a Busy Bee Cylinder Machine with proprietary mandrel

This is a Busy Bee cylinder phonograph that was made for the O'Neill-James Company of Chicago. It was made from a Columbia Graphophone model Q, but mounted with a larger diameter mandrel so it could only play cylinder records sold by O'Neill-James. They were sold very cheap, attempting to trick the consumer into buying a proprietary record format. It wasn't uncommon for people to just go buy a Columbia Q mandrel and update the phonograph to play standard Edison and Columbia cylinder records.
