This is my instrumental rendition of ‘Medieval & Renaissance Spanish Themes’ as arranged by “La Tablatura.” This Medieval/Renaissance Spanish theme has five pieces of music. Three from the Medieval era of music (500s-1400s) and then two from the Renaissance era of music (1400s-1600s).
In this video, I play the first three pieces that are approx. one minute each. Alfonso X composed this Medieval music. He was the king of Castile, León and Galicia from 1252 to 1284. Alfonso X commissioned or co-authored many works of music during his reign as king.
The pictures in this video are of Lead, South Dakota. Lead was founded in 1876 and is located in the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota. The Homestake “Gold” Mining Company employed thousands of people while it operated in Lead, SD. In 1910 Lead's population was around 8,392 and now it is around 3,124. The Homestake mine located in Lead was the largest and deepest gold producing mine in the Western Hemisphere. The Homestake gold mine closed in 2002.
