Hook: Mustad R73-9671, #4 - #14
Thread: UTC Ultra Thread 70 Denier, Olive
Tail: Ringneck Pheasant Marabou or Grizzly Marabou
Body: Gray Squirrel, Rabbit and Olive Antron Dubbing or Life Cycle Olive Dubbing
Collar: Ringneck Pheasant Rump feather
Head: Ringneck Pheasant Aftershaft

The Gartside Sparrow is one of my favorite flies to tie. Everything but the dubbing comes from the Ringneck Pheasant. I include a good bit of information in the video about the Ringneck Pheasant skin and it's feathers as well as the Aftershaft segment used in the head of the Sparrow. You will also learn why it is not a Filoplume. It is a simple fly to tie but very effective. It can imitate all sorts of things in the water and it can be fished as a nymph as well as a streamer. All 'round, just a elegant fly in the vise and in the water. - Enjoy
