The Sin Nature Revealed by Dr Michael H Yeager

There is much confusion when it comes to the teaching of The Sin Nature! If you do a search on YouTube you will find three opposing opinions.

#1 One teaching says that there is no Sin Nature. That when you were born again, the old man disappeared. Yet if you study the Scriptures and in the New Testament, it absolutely declares there is a fleshly nature, an old man in every believer.

Ephesians 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

#2 the second teaching comes from Calvinism which teaches the doctrine of total depravity which asserts that people are, as a result of the fall, not inclined or even able to love God wholly with heart, mind, and strength, but rather are inclined by nature to serve their own will and desires and reject his rule. That there completely and totally depraved in nature, character and desires.

Of course, this is ridiculous because God commands men to love him and seek him. Throughout the Old Testament, you'll discover those who the Bible says did love God and sought him.

1 Kings 3:3And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.

2 Chronicles 15:15And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the Lord gave them rest round about.

#3 The third teaching says that because Calvinists teach The Sin Nature, therefore it must be wrong. Where the Calvinists are wrong is that they teach that man is sinful in his heart and his soul from his very conception. But the gospel of John chapter 1 says every man is born alive unto God.

John 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Jesus also declared that the kingdom of God is like little children.

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

That we must become like little children to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:3And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Paul the apostle said his soul did not die until the law came, and revealed to him his sin. Romans 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

There is no sin without the knowledge of God's requirements. James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Where Is the Sin Nature Found? If you study the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation you Discover the sin nature is in the flesh of man. It is not in the soul of man until he succumbs to his flesh. This is why Jesus never experienced sin in his soul, hearts, mind, or decisions. He never surrendered to sin that is in the flesh.
