The story of 'Sleeping Beauty' is much darker

The 1634 novella 'Sun, Moon, and Talia' by Giambattista Basile influenced Charles Perrault, who in turn inspired Walt Disney. However, in the original story, a king sexually attacks and then abandons an unconscious woman. He returns after she has given birth to twins, and the two fall in love.
Creepy.

Little Red Riding Hood was originally a cannibal
The wolf compels Red to devour her own grandmother, then makes her strip down to come into bed with him, according to the original text of 'Little Red Riding Hood,' by author Charles Perrault.
I wonder if he, at least, cooked the grandmother first. Gross.

Pocahontas was much younger than you thought

You've definitely heard that Disney's 'Pocahontas' is far from accurate, but keep in mind that Pocahontas would not have been a teenager at the time, and John Smith would have been in his late twenties. Pocahontas was kidnapped and sent to England when she was 17 years old, where she died four years later.
