Hook: Mustad 3906, 3906b or 3399, #10 - #16
Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer Silk, Orange
Body/Rib: Pearsall's Gossamer Silk, Orange
Collar: Woodcock Under Covert Feather
Head: Peacock Herl

I learned a little about Yorkshire flies with this weeks soft hackle. The Winter Brown is from T.E. Pritt's book North Country Flies. I read about it through Sylvester Nemes book Two Centuries of Soft-Hackled Flies. The interesting part is the peacock herl head and apparently, it is common on Yorkshire flies. This I did not know. It is a fun fly to tie, simple and straight forward. Just make certain to palmer the hackle a little further from the eye of the hook to leave room for the peacock herl. - Enjoy
