I. Two Premises
A. When the Church is established in a nation, God holds the Church accountable for
that nation

II. Principles About The Church
A. Jesus is the Head of the Body (Eph. 1:22, 23). He carries out His redemptive
purposes through its members, e.g., Mark 16:15; Matt. 28:19
B. Jesus is also Head of the ecclesia (the governmental body)
1. Illustrate from Athens (decrees but not laws)
2. Specifically, He restrains the working of Satan in the world through the
ecclesia
C. Apostasy in the Church will open the way for Antichrist (2 Thess. 2:3)
D. Therefore judgment must begin at God’s House (the Church) (1 Pet. 4:17)
E. “If My people . . . I will heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14)
III. BUT Who Are The Church?
A. Make disciples—not Church members (Matt. 28:19)
B. Disciples called Christians (Acts 11:26)
IV. Who Are Disciples?
A. Deny – take up – follow (Matt. 16:24–25)
B. Hate father, mother . . . his own soul (Luke 14:26–27)
