Biden Meets with Senators Durbin and Grassley on Supreme Court Nomination
President Biden outlined the qualifications he is seeking in a nominee to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, saying “what I’m looking for is a candidate with character and a judicial philosophy that is more one that suggests that there are unenumerated rights in the Constitution and all the amendments mean something, including the 9th Amendment.” Biden made the remarks ahead of a meeting to discuss the nomination with top Democrats and Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee - Chair Durbin (D-IL) and Ranking Member Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
