1. The blessing of Abraham: Blessed in all things (Gen. 24:1)
2. “Bewitched” Christians (Gal. 3:1–10)
a. They lost the vision of the cross
b. Main aim of Satan: to obscure the cross where Jesus defeated him (Col.
2:13–15)
c. Results of witchcraft:
(1) Becoming carnal
(2) Becoming legalistic
(a) The attempt to achieve righteousness with God by keeping a set of
rules
(b) Adding any requirement for righteousness to what God has already
stated in His Word
(3) Results in a curse (Gal. 3:10)
3. The nature of blessings and curses
a. Words charged with supernatural authority and power—continuing from
generation to generation (Listed in Deut. 28)

Exaltation Humiliation
Reproductiveness Failure to reproduce/barrenness
Health Sickness of every kind,
especially hereditary
Prosperity, success Poverty, failure
Victory Defeat

b. Indications of a curse
(1) Mental and/or emotional breakdowns
(2) Repeated or chronic sicknesses (especially hereditary)
(3) Female problems (barrenness, miscarriages, menstrual problems)
(4) Breakdown of marriage and family alienation
(5) Financial insufficiency
(6) Accident prone
(7) History of suicides or unnatural deaths

3. The nature of blessings and curses (Release from Curses)
c. Essence of a curse: frustration:
(1) A dark shadow from the past, family related, shutting off the sunlight
of God’s blessing
(2) A long evil arm which trips you up or pushes you out of the way
d. Common causes of curses:
(1) Idolatry (the primary cause) and the realm of the occult
(2) False religions and secret societies—includes covenants with people
who worship false gods, e.g. Freemasonry
(3) Wrong attitude to parents
(4) Injustice to the weak and helpless, i.e. abortion
(5) Anti-Semitism (cursing the Jewish people)
(6) Self-imposed curses; i.e., “I wish I were dead,” “I can’t handle this”
(7) From people with relational authority, i.e. parents, husbands
(8) Servants of Satan, e.g. Witch doctors, shamans, etc.
4. The only basis for release (Gal. 3:13–14)
Steps to take:
a. Recognize
b. Repent (from personal involvement or on behalf of family members)
c. Renounce
d. Forgive others
e. Release
