I. Yet Once More (Heb. 12: 25–29; Hag. 2: 6)
A. I will shake . . .
1. Heaven
2. Earth
3. Sea
4. Dry land

B. Do you believe in the judgment of God? (John 16: 8)
1. The Holy Spirit will convict of:
a. Sin—everything that departs from what is straight.
b. Righteousness
c. Judgment
2. There are two judgments:
a. One for unbelievers—for condemnation
b. The other for Christians—assessment for rewards
3. The Savior is also the judge:
a. Of the living and the dead (Acts 10: 42–43)
b. All men everywhere (Acts 17: 30–31)
Therefore repent and prepare to meet the judge (Jesus)
c. Parable of the Pounds (Minas) (Luke 19)
(1) Wickedness equated to laziness
(2) Those who reject Jesus’ rule: “slay them before Me”
II. Nothing That Can Be Shaken Will Remain Unshaken
A. Three shakings
1. Preliminary—already begun
2. Intermediate—probably not yet begun
3. Final—certainly not yet begun
B. What can be shaken? Picture of the house on the rock (Luke 6:46–49). No difference in the severity of the test (storm)
1. Individual lives
2. Households (Matt. 12: 25)
a. “A house divided against itself”
b. Break-up of families
c. Hordes of unparented children
3. Institutions not founded on the teaching of Jesus (i.e., Savings and Loan
failure, businesses, governments [e.g., Soviet Union], religious institutions)
4. Material structures (Is. 2: 12ff; 30: 25)—great slaughter when the towers fall
5. The whole earth (Rev. 6: 12)—every mountain and island moved out of place
6. Heavenly bodies (Matt. 24: 29)—sun, moon, stars, powers of heaven
II. No One Is Exempted (Is. 24: 1–6)
A. Three reasons why:
1. Transgressed the law
2. Changed the ordinance
3. Broke the everlasting covenant
B. Shaking continues (Is. 24: 17)
C. Climax appointed by God (Is. 24: 21)
1. Establishment of Lord’s kingdom on earth with Jerusalem as capital
2. Thy kingdom come
3. Triple glory: Jesus, the Father, the angels (Luke 9: 26)
4. One thing sinful man cannot bear (Rev. 6: 14)
III. Root Cause: Degeneration of Human Character (2 Tim. 3: 1–5)
A. Pride — Remedy: confession of sins
B. Carnality — when we think, act and live as if this world is our home – not living
in the consciousness of eternal issues
C. Decline of human character
1. Everything is corrupt
2. God’s remedy: make all things new
D. People who have a form of godliness – from such turn away
E. Underlying force: the occult (verse 14: evil men, enchanters)
F. Remedy: 2 Timothy 3: 16
1. Doctrine, reproof, instruction in righteousness
2. The Scripture
3. The Word (chapter 4: 1)
