Amazing twin temples in China at an altitude of more than 2000 meters

Mount Fanjin is located in China on the Wuling massif. It is famous for two reasons: firstly, the twin temples of the same name, built at an altitude of 2336 meters, are considered the visiting card of the top of the sacred mountain. And secondly, on Mount Fanjingshan you can see an unusual natural phenomenon called “Foguang”, which occurs due to the diffraction of light waves. Many in China call it Buddha Light. The photos alone will take your breath away! Therefore, the buildings can be called one of the most incredible sights on the planet.

"Foguang" appears in the sky around a mountain peak and is an amazing refraction of light as rainbow patterns appear in the air. Unfortunately, you can not always see them - you need sunny and clear weather, and in these places it is often cloudy and rainy.

Not only "Foguang" attracts tourists on Mount Fanjin: two twin temples built in mirror image - Buddha Temple and Maitreya Temple. They are located at different ends of the peak, which is split into several parts and divided by a narrow gorge, so the buildings are connected by a stone bridge. One temple represents the present, the other the future. We can say that this is a kind of symbol of the relationship between "today" and "tomorrow".

Inside the temples are quite small and consist of only one hall, without additional rooms and outbuildings. Each building is surrounded by a small observation deck, which offers incredible views of the mountain scenery. It was not for nothing that Buddhist monks climbed here several centuries ago to think about the meaning of life and achieve enlightenment. good physical fitness. For those who are not confident in their abilities, a cable car works - it delivers visitors to the temples much faster. It is interesting that many temples have been built near Mount Fanjing for a long time, so this place was already considered sacred by local residents in the 7th-10th centuries AD.
