The Power of the Unknown

We all have unknown passages where our journey brings us to a place we’ve never experienced before. Therein lies the power of the unknown. It’s usually cloaked in darkness and fear as frightening imagination of what lies ahead take over.

Anxiety is a major issue in many lives. It causes sleep disorders and health problems related to stress. If you’ve already been through a major illness, for example, lost due to death or other circumstances important relationships, or had other major changes in finances, job, location, etc then you’re an easy target for the power of the unknown to take over.

What about things you hang onto as secure markers in your life suddenly shift due to truths being revealed, the hidden is exposed and now you must deal with what else you’ve believed is unknown? There’s once more the power of the unknown. Will your faith be shaken? Your education? Your livelihood affected? Your health? Hebrews 12 says everything that can be shaken will be. That only the unshaken will remain. 28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, and offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship with reverence and awe; 29 for our God is [indeed] a consuming fire.

This happened to me. After having some problems with CV in my weakened state
Other factors crept in. Swallowing issues and then tooth emergency with a first-time root canal. A pending court case and a major business issue plus my burden for my weakness preventing me from driving too far making my chaplain’s job difficult to get to.

Anxiety. Deep breathing. Friends and family support through prayers, acts of kindness, words of encouragement. Vitamins like vitamin D3, magnesium, melatonin, and valerian tea. Essential oils like lavender, CBD oil etc. hot baths with Epsom salts.
Bananas and hot teas, toast with honey, warm milk and honey, soups. Oximeter let’s you know your oxygen level. Heart rate. Call doctors for understanding.
Sit outside. Sunshine on top of head produces Serotonin helping you sleep. Music and watching beautiful scenes gets your mind off unknown. Helps you relax. Taking authority and Communion. Shofar and declarations. Praying in the Spirit. Bottom line is TRUST psalm 23.
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

Lastly Hebrews 12 encouragement again states 12 So then, strengthen hands that are weak and knees that tremble. 13 Cut through and make smooth, straight paths for your feet [that are safe and go in the right direction], so that the leg which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather may be healed.

Be anxious for nothing

Think on these things

Faith overcomes the world

Nothing can separate us from the love of God

Perfect love casts out fear.
