The Needs Of The Young People | Eld. Charles Allen Gentry | Ecclesiastes 12:1,13,14

A sermon on Ecclesiastes 12:1, 13-14 about the needs of young people. Youth is not an excuse to put off salvation. We need to use our youthful strength in service to our Lord who loved us and gave His life for us so that we can have true everlasting life.

This is a timeless message from a day service revival held in 1998 at the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Shade, Tennessee. The preacher is Elder Charles Allen Gentry.

A revival is "a meeting or series of meetings for the purpose of reawakening religious faith, often characterized by impassioned preaching and public testimony" according the the American Heritage Dictionary. Many times there have been day and night services during an annual week long revival, mostly in the summer months. Those meetings close with an invitation to lost sinners under conviction to seek the Lord for the salvation of their soul. Those who belong to the church practice the Christian handshake at the end of many meetings. When the Spirit of the Lord has his way, people get happy in the Lord, praise God aloud or shout for joy.

The church building shown in the video is the Green Valley Missionary Baptist Church located in the Elmwood community of Smith County, Tennessee, where the preacher is the pastor.

This message was given to me on tape many years ago and I listened to it quite frequently because the preachers is right by giving a caution flag. We should not remove the Biblical system of faith and practice! He notes that early Christians in America settled in the New England states but today those states are not really the "Bible Belt" anymore. The fires of revival will not be found in Rhode Island or Connecticut today. What if believers in old-fashioned Baptist churches down South forsake their beliefs and practices and remove the ancient landmarks? Will the fires of revival be quenched? Where will you find the pure gospel of Jesus Christ? Will revival break out somewhere else?
