Its made of 75 copper, 2 percent nickel. Weight is 5 grams, diameter 21.2 millis. On the obverse The portrait of Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd president of the U.S. from 1801 to 1809, facing left. Motto in God we trust on the left, Liberty and date on the right, as you see mint mark is missing, which means it was struck by Philadelpia mint. As you can see obverse side is in pretty fine condition, letterings are stark and bold, show no wear, which can not be told about the device elements, Jefferson head, significant wear evident on hair. Coin lost its mirror fields long tima ago, numerous hairlines on device and fields. Also dark-green-greyish patina piledto the inner edges of a rim, and at on the border of fields and device. On the reverse, E pluribus unum, which means One, out of many, above, Monticello, Tomas Jeffersons Virginia residence on center, letterings monticello, Five cents and United States of America below. This varieties of Jefferson nikcels come with 5 full steps on Monticello. Unfortunately we can see none in this speciemen. Massive wear on device, onlynone in this speciemen. Massive wear on device, only four columns are distinguished. Signs of oxidation also evident on the fields of reverse. But letterings are cut and clear.
