Small Group Writing Class: Persuasive Essay

In this online class, three 11th graders at a prestigious bilingual school in the Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan work on their writing skills. Their teacher had assigned them to write a persuasive essay. In this class, Alex first reads his essay aloud while the teacher and 2 classmates read along. The classmates give their feedback and affirmation. Then, the teacher goes through line by line and gives feedback, instruction, and praise. This real-time instruction, week by week, does wonders for the students' writing skills, word sense, and confidence.
