Mercedes S-class (2022) - Ultra luxury legendary sedan!
2022 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Starting at: $112,150
Pros As high-tech as a Silicon Valley startup, as luxurious as a room in a royal palace, and as nimble as much smaller sedans. Cons Doesn't feel as grand as it is, digital gauges sacrifice craftsmanship, adaptive cruise doesn't work as it should. Verdict The S-Class sedan remains the gold standard for large luxury vehicles with its cutting-edge technology and countless comforts.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class of 2022 is not only a personal limousine for super-rich, but also demonstrating the latest technology companies. Not only is the Mercedes cult sedan has an interior, lined with the best materials, it is also equipped with huge OLED screens on the dashboard, as well as a 3D support display and navigating with augmented reality. Along with the standard full-wheel drive, easy S-class acceleration is provided by inline six power 429 hp (S500) or engine V-8 with a capacity of 496 hp (S580). Driving any model is not exciting, but solitude and relaxation, so the best places behind. However, this huge barge is surprisingly maneuveran on turns and traffic jams, especially with an optional rear wheel control system. Regardless of the case, the S-class of 2022 comes to it.
The 2022 S-Class lineup will receive several new additions. In particular, the E-Active Body Control system is now available. This fully active suspension system automatically adjusts damping and level control for each individual wheel to maximize ride and vehicle stability. Also recently available is the MBUX Interior Assist system, which recognizes gestures as well as hand movements towards the touch screen or touchpad and highlights or activates the desired content. The system can also tell the difference between driver and front seat passenger and store individual preferences. The S-Class is also available in new colors Marine Blue Metallic, Kalahari Gold, Manufaktur Cashmere White Mango and Manufaktur Selenite Gray Mango. The center console is now offered in metallic black, silver or black dotted lines.
Prices and which one to buy S 500: $112,150 S 580: $118,750 While its starting price is significantly higher than the 2020 model, the new S-Class boasts a host of upgrades and upgrades to justify its six-figure price tag. We believe that the ultimate luxury is a powerful engine, so we're willing to pay extra for a 496-horsepower V-8 and a more upmarket S580 badge on the trunk lid.
Engine, transmission and performance Mercedes offers the sedan with either a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six with 429 hp. for the S500, or with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 with 496 hp. Both powertrains are complemented by a 48-volt hybrid system (called EQ Boost) and mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive. There will also be a plug-in hybrid model that is said to have a range of around 60 miles on all-electric power. We tested the gas-powered sedan in its native Germany and on our shores, which demonstrated various suspension and steering modes. While every model is equipped with air suspension, the E-Active Body Control system has a "bending" feature that gently leans the car into corners. The S-Class can also be fitted with an all-wheel steering system, and the Body Merc is surprisingly easy to maneuver in tight quarters.
Interior, comfort and cargo Inside, the S-Class favors screens. Many of them. The sedan is available with five, including a giant central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge array. The latter works in conjunction with other technologies to create a three-dimensional effect, but fortunately it can be turned off if you prefer the screens to look normal. There is also an improved head-up display that will show navigation directions in augmented reality. Essentially, the arrows move and turn in real time to ostensibly better assist the driver. Build quality and interior materials are up to Mercedes' high-end standards, and the sedan provides accommodation for all passengers, especially those in the back, like in a limousine. The rear of the new model offers slightly more headroom and legroom, and it can also be fitted with adjustable reclining seats that have massage functions and extensive heating elements.
