This is my rendition of Fabio Lima’s classical guitar arrangement of “Gran Vals” by Francisco Tárrega. Spanish composer Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909) was a classical guitarist during the Romantic era of music (1830-1900). Tárrega has composed many beautiful pieces of music. He is often referred to as “the father of classical guitar” and is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I like “Gran Vals” because it has a happy and fun feel to it, so I put some festival pics to the music. F. Tárrega is my favorite classical guitar composer.

The pictures in this video are of the “2021 Route 66 Mother Road Festival” and then at “3:13” there are some pics of Albuquerque “Old Town,” New Mexico. There are pictures of beautifully cool autos, trucks, and motorcycles from both the Route 66 festival and Old Town. The end of the video is a sunset video at “4:13” taken in Door County, Wisconsin. You can hear the gentle flow of the water in the background of the music during the last 30 seconds of this video.

After I complete a piece of music, I always ask myself “to effect or not to effect.” On “Gran Vals,” I have the initial sections with no effects and then the repeat sections with effects. I don’t always do the repeats but this piece is so pretty I added effects on the repeats.
