Battery BMS Repair - How to and Not to

My small 48v battery voltage was reading 2 volt higher on the charger then when off. So I found this is a sign of a bad BMS. Think this was caused by connecting in parallel when the voltage was off by more then .1 rush current in and firing it.

The easiest fix for this is to replace the BMS with a new one. However I forgot to check to balancing lead polarity and the unit I bought went pop. So I order an other one.
