Amos 6:1–7:17 Psalm 142:1–7 Proverbs 29:27 Revelation 5:1–14

- Amos 6 - 3 Woe to you who put far off the day of doom, Who cause the seat of violence to come near; 4 Who lie on beds of ivory, Stretch out on your couches, Eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall;
- Coming destruction while people live in ease... for Israel, The LORD is an enemy to His people here for their idolatry
- Amos 7 - God is setting a plumb line on Israel - compares what is straight
- Psalm 142 - David's prayer from a cave -5 I cried out to You, O LORD: I said, “You are my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.
- 142:1–7 - Macarthur's Note - Under the same circumstances as Psalm 57 (according to the superscription), David recounted his desperate days hiding in the cave of Adullam (1 Sam. 22:1) while Saul sought him to take his life (1 Sam. 18–24). It appears that David’s situation, for the moment at least, seems hopeless without God’s intervention. Psalm 91 provides the truths that bring the solution.
- Proverbs 29:27 - 27 An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, And he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
- Righteousness is an abomination to the wicked,
- Revelation 5 - No one is worthy to open the scroll - The Lion of the Tribe of Judah the root of Jesse is worthy to loose its seven seals, - This is the title deed to the universe from Daniel 7🙂 the Lamb that looked is if he had been slain, then he came and took the scoll out of the hand of him who sat on the throne, then the Elders fall down and worship the lamb, then mention the Elders will be kings and priests and reign on the earth, don't miss this part.
- “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
- Every creature worships God, and the Lamb (Trinity here) They sing a new song - MacArthur's note - 9). This new song anticipates the final, glorious redemption that God is about to begin. “For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood.” The sacrificial death of Christ on behalf of sinners made Him worthy to take the scroll.
