Roe vs Wade, Women's Healthcare, Pro-Choice - Logical Arguments

Today we look at Roe vs Wade, Women's Healthcare, and Pro-Choice with a logical mind set. We will examine abortion not from a solely biblical perspective but a logical one.

I believe that God is a logical being. he has given us our intelligence, as a gift, in order for us to think for ourselves. Join me as I start a new series called Logical Arguments. In this series we will be looking at political and cultural topics with a critical mind.

Todays Arguments are:

1. It's not a baby; it's just a blob of cells. Abortion is just like cutting off an extra appendage or it's like cutting off a finger.

2. The fetus doesn't have any memories.

3. If we're truly pro-life, this means that a woman having a period or a man masturbating is abortion.

4. They aren't human until they've been born.

5. Women have a moral right to decide what to do with their bodies.

6. Pro-lifers are hypocrites: Why should we only save human life and not all other life?

7. Pro-lifers are inconsistent: Pro-lifers are usually against getting rid of gun laws because it won't stop murder, but they want to make abortion illegal, thinking that it will get rid of abortions.

8. The right to abortion is vital for gender equality.

9. The right to abortion is vital for individual women to achieve their full potential.

10. banning abortion puts women at risk by forcing them to use illegal abortionists

11. The right to abortion should be part of a portfolio of pregnancy rights that enables women to make a truly free choice whether to end a pregnancy

12. The US Supreme Court has declared abortion to be a fundamental right guaranteed by the US Constitution.

13. Personhood begins after a fetus becomes “viable” (able to survive outside the womb) or after birth, not at conception.

14. Fetuses are incapable of feeling pain when most abortions are performed.

15. Women who receive abortions are less likely to suffer mental health problems than women denied abortions.

16. Abortion gives pregnant women the option to choose not to bring fetuses with profound abnormalities to full term.

17. Women who are denied abortions are more likely to become unemployed, to be on public welfare, to be below the poverty line, and to become victims of domestic violence.

18. A baby should not come into the world unwanted.

19. Abortion reduces crime.

20. Abortion is justified as a means of population control.

21. Many religious organizations and people of faith support women’s reproductive choice.

22. What about rape and incest?

23. No one should be forced to have a human living inside of them.

24. Don't like abortions; don't get one!

25. A man can't talk about abortion.

26. I would never personally get an abortion, but I would never tell anybody else that they shouldn't get an abortion.

27. If you're anti-abortion, you should be willing to support the child yourself.

28. Not everyone has the same moral rules: No one gets to impose their morals on anyone else.

29. A fetus doesn't have any rights according to the law.

30. It's not killing; instead it's preventing the creation of human life.

31. A child would be happier if its mother wanted it: Therefore, it's better for the mother to abort it.

32. It's better to have a child aborted than for it to be mentally disabled.

33. You shouldn't have a child if you can't afford it.
