The desire for someone to understand and validate our suffering can be so strong that when someone does it, we give them the authority to provide their solutions, too. This mindset is dangerous, but it often happens, primarily when the soul care provider uses descriptive secular language to describe the problem. One of the more common cultural labels is narcissism, which has a host of sub-categories that define the word.
