Should The Browns Bring Back Jarvis landry?

During his career in Cleveland, Landry has 228 receptions for 3,485 yards and 37 touchdowns. However, his success cannot be valued in just numbers. In the three years before his arrival in Cleveland, the Browns were 4-44 with zero direction or leadership. Landry brought a level of professionalism that had been lacking for many years.

Landry enters the final year of his contract with a $16.55 million hit against the salary cap with zero guaranteed money for the 2022 season. On the surface, this seems an extreme amount of money to pay a 30 year old who had 52 receptions for 570 yards and only two receiving touchdowns in 2021. However, with the 2022 cap is expected to grow upwards of 14%, most receivers with Landry’s production and skill level will probably be overpaid.
