Tim Langan - "Red"

This song was written for my Father.
It was composed shortly after his passing on May 17, 2004, as my tribute to him.
My Father did not have a very musical background, in fact, I was once told that he had a wooden ear, or was tone deaf. For him, music was either military marches by John Phillip Sousa or any variety of Irish Jigs. Occasionally, he listened to 8 track tapes in his car by Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass. My attempt here was to try to combine those influences into one piece of music, which was not an easy task, but as difficult as it was to do this, it was still very simple, compared to the job of compiling enough images here to create this slideshow. I have struggled for about 8 years trying to contact all of my relatives to see if there were any images, or video of my Dad. I recently had stumbled across some old super 8mm films that had been transferred to VHS, that I in turn was able to convert to DVD and use in this video/slideshow.
I am so pleased to finally be able to present this labour of love and fulfill the promise that I made some 8 years ago today.
Thank you for being my Father and for all of the love and support that you gave to me throughout your life and for being the perfect role model for me to base my life upon.
I love you Dad.
This song is from my "Keyboard Composition - Volume #8" and was created on my Korg 01Wfd synthesizer with it's built in 16-track sequencer.
