TV crew attacked as protest against Covid measures turns violent

A camera operator was attacked by protesters in Brussels demonstrating against Covid vaccinations and restrictions.As seen in the footage above, demonstrators set upon a video team covering the march for The Associated Press.

One protester attempted to headbutt the camera operator and another kicked him several times in the legs as filming equipment was damaged.

Police used water cannon and tear gas to disperse protesters after officers were attacked.

Brussels police said 70 people were detained and three officers and 12 demonstrators required hospital treatment.

The demonstration drew thousands of people from around Europe.
