Nara Skies Illuminated

The annual Wakakusa Yamayaki fire festival took place in Nara, Japan. Mount Wakakusa was set on fire with the flames from the ceremony held shortly before – the talismans burning. The wonderful spectacle burned for around 30 minutes, thus calming the ancient spirits – that's according to one of the theories about the ritual’s origin.
