I was terribly abused as a child for 7 years, by my brother's wife. It was awful, but it opened my childhood mind to the fact that if I had a good education, I could gain my freedom for life. I poured my whole being to achieve this goal. In 1979, I came to the US on a student's visa to pursue my dreams. I ended up with a Bachelor's degree, a Masters and a PhD in Nursing. GOAL ACHIEVED!!! in 1989. I worn my freedom for the rest of my life. Oh, it feels so good. I went back home (Nigeria) in 1996 to forgive my brother's wife for the torment she put me through, and cared for her financially in her later years.
