Amos 5;18-24
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness & not light.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion & a bear met him; or went into the house & leaned his hand on the wall & a serpent bit him.
20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness & not light? even very dark & no brightness in it?
21 I hate, I despise your feast days & I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings & your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
24 But let judgment run down as waters & righteousness as a mighty stream.

28 Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land & have left none of them any more there.
29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

Wisdom of Solomon 5:1-2

Then shall the righteous man stand in great boldness before the face of such as have afflicted him & made no account of his labours.
2 When they see it, they shall be troubled with terrible fear & shall be amazed at the strangeness of his salvation, so far beyond all that they looked for.
