In the Pacific Ocean, on the island nation of Tonga, there was an explosion comparable in power to the explosion of a hydrogen bomb. The Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Haapai volcano thundered in the Tonga archipelago. The sounds of its shock wave reached New Zealand, which is located at a distance of 2300 km. And smoke and ashes rose to a height of 18-20 kilometers.
