The Cowboys are never going to win unless their leaders take responsibility (1-17-22)

Bob Sturm: The reason we are so familiar with how these Cowboys’ seasons go and more notably how they play in the big games in front of their home stadium is simple: The patterns of these games follow a familiar cadence. They are not the exact same game, but I promise that if you were to lay the game templates over each other, they would show a lot of similarities.

They almost always begin with the Cowboys slow start. This reason alone might be enough to not defer the coin toss to the second half, but again, I realize the numbers tell us it is much smarter to attempt the halftime “double up”, so deferring is certainly what every modern coaching staff would do.
