Frontline health workers have rung in the new year confronting their biggest challenge yet - surging numbers of COVID cases overwhelming the hospital system with not enough staff as there are thousands on sick leave or isolating.
Unfortunately, frontline health workers say some people with mild non-urgent COVID symptoms are ringing the emergency hotline. Jason Om reports.
