Ramps & Doggie Socks | Feetsies | Senior Dog Life

I’m so grateful that we got this ramp several years ago at an AGN (Libby’s rescue organization, Adopt a Golden Nashville) auction. It seemed like the sticky traction material were off over the years so Jay cemented AstroTurf and it does seem to help.

As for her foot - it seems like a sore that broke open. She has some paw pad issues so I cleaned it up put some peroxide and water to make sure we stopped any infection and it instantly looked better. The amount of antibiotics she normally takes during the year for her UTIs I would hope would have some effect on anything else happening but that’s not a given for whatever bacteria might be going on.

Thankfully she is evolved into a stage where she’s not trying to rip bandages and socks off like when she was younger. I think we will be able to just treat it with the wound care products I have already on hand but if not, we will be making an appointment at the vet.

It’s just par for a senior dog who doesn’t fight off things like she used to - especially with the Cushing’s and the extra cortisol running through her body. I will say though that she does still heal from many various illnesses. The UTIs - they are chronic so I don’t expect to stop but her eye is almost completely back to normal. Other sores have healed too so she’s a little fighter. My warrior Goldie girl 💜🐾
