One of my dad's friends tried to hook me up with this girl named Belinda. She seemed to like me but I didn't hit it off with her. We dated a couple times and that was about it. And no, I didn't “do it with her” like the song suggests. It's just a basic, gut bucket rock and roll kind of tune that I liked listening to at the time; and I wrote a few song along those lines. The story, in itself, is a bit of an odd way of doing things, going from 1st person to 3rd person and back and forth again. I didn't exactly do this on purpose, but I didn't feel like rewriting the tune to have it make grammatical sense. I liked the song too much for singing purposes to change it. In other words, the words flowed off my tongue easily singing these lines.
This is song #186.
