The 144,000 and Two Witnesses Part 9 - Revelation Study

John went to the angel and asked him to give him the little scroll, the little book, and the angel said to him “Yes, take it and eat it,” he said. “It will be sweet as honey in your mouth, but it will turn sour in your stomach!” So I took the small scroll from the hand of the angel, and I ate it! It was sweet in my mouth, but when I swallowed it, it turned sour in my stomach. Then I was told, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”

Consider verse 11 carefully, “Then I was told,”—John is living the experience of the 144,000—you must prophesy again, you must preach again...the King James Version says it more clearly: you must prophesy, you must proclaim, you must preach again before many peoples, nations, languages, and Kings. The key point here is the word “again” or redoing something that was done before.

Now, about the book portion—where John is given the book to eat—I want to take you to a parallel experience that Ezekiel had so that you can understand what the 144,000 will experience. When God called Ezekiel to speak for him, Ezekiel didn't know anything; he had nothing to say; he's just a kid—probably eighteen or nineteen years-old: just a young man. And Ezekiel is no authority on anything, he's just someone that God saw had the heart that he could use because he needed a mouthpiece. God chooses those who are dumb, basically, to speak for him so they won't mess up what he wants to say.
