Small cities across America are pushing back on the American Rescue Plan money from the Fed, as the Fed looks to get it's hooks into small towns and rural America by promising them upwards of $2 million to get back on their feet after COVID.

The contract between the Fed and small counties and towns has language in it that makes the recipients of the money beholden to executive orders as well as a list of terms and conditions that includes everything from using government approved contractors to layers of complex accounting and audits for the money.

In Fredericksburg Texas, the city manager signed the agreement with the Feds then lied about it in public at a city council meeting where he was corrected by the city attorney three times when it came to the executive order language.

Later, the city manager had to publicly retract his misinformation in the city newspaper.

It still didn't stop the process and as the city gave out money to non-profits from the American Rescue Plan money, the citizens of Fredericksburg delivered 130 signed and notarized affidavits, after reading the affidavit aloud.
