EMPTY (GHOST) PLANES FLY SO AIRLINES KEEP THEIR TAKEOFF/LANDING SLOTS IN EUROPE

In Europe airlines fly empty (ghost) planes to keep their takeoff and landing slots. This uses a lot of fuel, and emits an enormous amount of emissions (greenhouse gases and many other pollutants). It also means a lot more maintenance is mandates, which includes new parts and fluids all because thousands of flights fly to simply not lose airport takeoff/landing slots. This is abusive from every angle.
