Isaiah Meanderings (29): Chs 34 & 35 - God's Final Confrontation w/ Evil Followed by Abundant Life

These two chapters have a vivid contrast between God's absolute anger for that which has diminished creation to misery and God's persistent plan for a world in which all (regardless of vulnerability) thrive. God will out violence the violent - rendering them as obsolete as the world was prior to God's speaking life and purpose into the pre-world void and formlessness. From that complete nothingness, in which evil is no more, creation will return upon a 'Highway of Holiness' in absolute rejoicing. All will thrive. Deserts burst into bloom. All will be safe. All will be well as Shalom is well - vibrant in created purpose and possibilities.
