The Smoldering Sofa

I was awakened by the unmistakable sound of fire engines on 5 January. An imbecile—who lived one unit over and two floors down—knocked over a pillar candle and set her apartment on fire. Fortunately, the firefighter heroes extinguished the flames before they were able to spread into other units.
