देश की मॉनेटरी पॉलिसी कमेटी (MPC) की मेंबर आशिमा गोयल का मानना है कि क्रिप्टो से जुड़ी एक्टिविटीज पर देश में पूरी तरह बैन लगाना मुश्किल होगा। उन्होंने हाल ही में एक इंटरव्यू में कहा कि किसी क्रिप्टोकरंसी को कानूनी दर्जा नहीं दिया जा सकता क्योंकि इससे उसके गैर कानूनी इस्तेमाल की आशंका होगी। केंद्र सरकार क्रिप्टो से जुड़ा कानून लाने की तैयारी कर रही है। इससे पहले यह अफवाह थी कि देश में क्रिप्टोकरंसीज पर पूरी तरह रोक लगाई जा सकती है। क्रिप्टोकरंसीज पर दुनिया भर में किसी वित्तीय संस्था का नियंत्रण नहीं है और इस वजह से इसकी विदेश में आसानी से ट्रांजैक्शंस की जा सकती हैं।

गोयल ने कहा कि देश में क्रिप्टोकरंसीज को पेमेंट के विकल्प के तौर पर स्वीकार नहीं किया जा सकता। उनका कहना था कि डिसेंट्रलाइज्ड डिजिटल एसेट्स को क्रिप्टो टोकन कहा जाना चाहिए और इन टोकन को रेगुलेट करने की जिम्मेदारी देश की अथॉरिटीज के पास होनी चाहिए। गोयल का मानना है कि क्रिप्टो से जुड़ी बड़ी ट्रांजैक्शंस की ऐसे इनवेस्टर्स की ही अनुमति दी जानी चाहिए जिन्हें जोखिमों की जानकारी है।

Earlier it was rumored that cryptocurrencies could be completely banned in the country. Cryptocurrencies are not controlled by any financial institution worldwide and because of this they can be easily transacted abroad.

Goyal said that cryptocurrencies cannot be accepted as a payment option in the country. He said that decentralized digital assets should be called crypto tokens and the responsibility of regulating these tokens should lie with the country's authorities. Goyal believes that large crypto-related transactions should be allowed only by such investors who are aware of the risks.
